Nice to meet you!

Laurel Martin

Hello! I’m a business coach who helps heart-centered leaders go further, faster.

You have the vision and drive. I know the principles and methods of creating and implementing successful strategies and nurturing high-performance teams, and will enable you to achieve financial viability to fund your purpose. I mobilize human capability by focusing on improving the way work gets done.

I have over 20 years of experience helping organizations set and pursue daunting goals, change their processes so their business hums, and build up the capabilities and resilience of their teams to keep solving increasingly challenging problems. I’ll work with you to establish worthy goals, then help you follow simple Lean methodology to get there. I can also facilitate strategic planning, leadership development, and process design for a new product or space.

I’ve held leadership roles in Strategic Planning, Operational Excellence, and Continuous Improvement within organizations across the retail and logistics industries. Before that, I served as a Strategy & Operations management consultant in a large, global consultancy, serving consumer goods companies. But I founded Growing Wild in order to help you run your purpose-driven business, so together we can make a positive impact on people and the planet.

Check out the testimonials throughout the site for stories of how I’ve helped food & beverage companies and other niche manufacturers step into new capabilities, with dramatic results on performance metrics.

Testimonials

“Laurel did a phenomenal job facilitating our Lean Leadership event! Our leadership team and Continuous Improvement network walked away wanting to learn more and feeling inspired to take action. They realized we have a long way to go on our CI journey, but found comfort and energy that we are doing the right thing. The activities she led allowed us to learn the Lean Leadership Principles in a fun and engaging way, which has become a renewed focus area for us as we see the importance of starting with the principles first. I’ve been asked by multiple individuals in my company if we can redo the event and invite more people! Thank you Laurel for your knowledge, professionalism, and passion for helping us on our CI journey.”

—Sr. Manager, Continuous Improvement, Columbia Sportswear

“Our company was struggling with quality control. Laurel helped us improve internal communication from sales to production so that we were getting feedback earlier and more often, which significantly cut down delays in production and the amount of rework. She gave us unifying language that helped put our team members on the same side of the table, and improved accountability which led to increased productivity and reduced costly mistakes.
The process Laurel led us through improved morale and empowered each of our team members to take an active role in creating better outcomes.
I would recommend Growing Wild to any company seeking to identify areas that may be holding their business back and establish processes to overcome those challenges.”

—Owner, Carriage Houses Northwest

“Laurel has been an integral part of helping to shift the culture of our leadership team by providing tools and exercises to bring our individual team members together for our greater purpose. Laurel has invested time with each of our leaders to identify their unique goals, challenges, and opportunities within our business and supported them with the tools they can use to help guide them through those challenges in the future. One of the greatest take aways from working with Laurel has been identifying our individual and team values. We are so grateful to have had Laurel lead us through our team development workshops.”
